This royal throne of kings, this scepter’d isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England
Richard II Act 2
William Shakespeare
I think back on my time in England and my heart smiles. My time wasn’t spent seeing wonderful new sights. It was spent seeing old friends and making new ones! Here are simply a few pictures of the England I know and love…….
So glad you had a lovely time. Your photo’s are wonderful. I look at these and read the words of the great bard, and feel so privileged to live on this special little island.
Yes, Heather, you are incredibly fortunate to live on that “special little island”! I breathe easily whenever I am there…..

Such lovely pictures and then great words from the bard himself. England is a country so full of beauty and history, such an extensive diversity of
people, opinions, cultures – and yet beneath it all beats the heart that is ‘forever England’. I love it too, Gaynor and I love this post of yours . Thank you.
Yes, Jane, you put it so beautifully. I always leave there with so much!
Gently I kiss your eyes
